LED traffic lights may not be as thought

Federal transportation officials have been pushing local governments for several years to switch to brighter, more energy-efficient LED traffic signals. But now a new study several intersections in Middletown is casting doubt on whether light-emitting diodes are as safe for motorists as the older incandescent light bulbs.
