Lumex Inc. has expanded its family of QuasarBrite UV LEDs with the introduction of three standard wavelengths and custom UV LED arrays. According to the company, its UV LEDs give up to
10 times longer lifespan or up to 50 percent cost savings, up to 70 percent energy consumption savings and improved light performance compared to CCFLs. The QuasarBrite UV LEDs are suitable for counterfeit detection of currency, passports and other travel documents; forensic analysis of bodily fluids; and as photo catalysts for air and water purifiers in homes, offices and automobiles
