Greenfield to replace streetlights with energy-efficient LEDs

The town expects to replace all of its cobrahead streetlights with energy-efficient ones by the end of summer. Greenfield received $65,000 from the state Department of Energy Resources last year for the project. Mayor William Martin said the town is expected to save $44,000 a year in energy costs when the project is complete. There are 1,162 cobrahead streetlights throughout town, and Greenfield has already upgraded 407 of them.
