Saphlux Releases Red Micro-LED Solution for AR Displays
This light engine has achieved 67% red-blue photon conversion efficiency at a pixel size of 2 µm, providing a solution to the long-standing f red efficiency and brightness problem.
Utilizing the proprietary NPQD (nanopores with quantum dots) technology, Saphlux team has fabricated the first NPQD RGB Micro-LED array with a sub-pixel size of 2 µm last October.
Recently, in order to address the red micro-LED problem, Saphlux team further optimized the efficiency and addressed the crosstalk and color purity issues, launching a new-generation NPQD red Micro-LED light engine for AR display applications.

JBD announces Native Color Monolithic RGB MicroLED displays
The display has a 5 μm color pixel pitch and a corresponding 2.5 μm monochrome R, G & B sub-pixel pitch. The display size is 0.22” diagonal with a qHD resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. The company is currently mass producing its flagship 0.13” 4 μm pixel pitch monochrome Red, Green and Blue displays and will be ramping up capacity at its new Hefei plant, with an annual production capacity of 120 million microLED displays.
This is a new product family aimed at next generation AR glasses with even smaller form factor and ease of system level integration.

Today, the District of Columbia's maintenance services department relies on its citizens to contact them to identify streetlight malfunctions. This is because the current urban lighting in Washington is based on older, high energy-consuming sodium lamps and remote monitoring and control was not yet available. That is about to change.
The District's vision for a smarter, safer and more energy efficient city has brought intelligent urban lighting to the attention of the City Council, which recently approved a project to convert all the city's street lights to energy-efficient LED technology with remote monitoring and control capabilities. The project plans to reduce the energy consumption by more than 50%, optimizing maintenance operations and enabling safer, more connected communities.
The new LED streetlights in D.C. will use inteliLIGHT smart street lighting NEMA controllers to provide individual lamp control and monitoring capabilities, city-wide grid awareness and real-time malfunction alerts. The project will use inteliLIGHT's Streetlight Control Software to manage the lighting, while using API connectivity to integrate with the existing maintenance and workforce management software.

ZKW equips new all-electric Volvo C40 with high-tech lights
The high-tech light illuminates the road particularly efficiently, adapts dynamically to traffic and avoids dazzling other road users. A front camera and radar permanently scan the road, allowing up to five vehicles to be blanked simultaneously.
The powerful light output of the premium headlamp is achieved by the LED pixel module in combination with the innovative ForTIR elements. The so-called light finger ForTIR elements use the apron to project part of the low beam onto the road. These are particularly flat projection modules that are just 13 millimeters high and also serve as design elements in the main headlights.
The unique LED light was developed in Wieselburg, where the headlight is also manufactured. The pixel module electronics come from the ZKW electronics plant in Wiener Neustadt.
