Blissfield to bring LEDs in light replacement program

Consumer’s Energy soon will begin replacing the village’s streetlights with light-emitting diode (LED) lamps, which village administrator James Wonacott said not only will offer a brighter , whiter light but also will save the village some money. Consumer’s will replace 346 lamps throughout the village. Existing 175-watter mercury vapor and 100-watt high-pressure sodium lamps will get 54-watt LEDs while existing 250- and 400-watt mercury vapor and 250-watt high-pressure sodium lamps will be replaced by 110-watt LEDs.
