GE Introduces New Reveal CFL Bulb
They say good things come in small packages, and for consumers, GE Lighting is delivering in a big way. GE's new Reveal Glass Covered CFL is now available in 9-watt, 15-watt and 20-watt bulbs and produces the clean, beautiful light consumers have come to expect from Reveal products, with the look of standard incandescent bulbs. They use less wattage than Reveal incandescent bulbs, with 9-watt, 15-watt and 20-watt Reveal CFLs the equivalent of the 40-watt, 60-watt and 75-watt incandescent bulbs, respectively. This translates to 75 percent less energy usage and, based on an electricity rate of 10c/kWh, energy savings between $24-$44 in electricity costs over the life of the bulb, depending on which wattage is used. While the outside appearance looks like a standard incandescent bulb, energy-efficient Reveal(R) Glass Covered CFLs last eight times as long, or about five years (based on four hours use per day for the 8,000-hour rated life).
