LED lighting trial in Victoria Avenue

Wanganui District Council (New Zealand) has installed two LED streetlights in the Bridge Block of Victoria Avenue as part of a trial of the technology. Infrastructure and Property Committee Chair Cr Ray Stevens said the lights were installed this week and the trial will then be extended to the City Bridge. "The trial will not only assess how LED lighting can reduce our power and maintenance costs but also how fit for purpose they are in specific environments," Cr Stevens said.
