Gaylord Community Schools is in the process of
switching out its fluorescent lights in favor of a light that is more aesthetically pleasing, more cost- and energy-efficient, and it is one of the first districts in the state to participate in a new program. Brian Pearson, Gaylord Community Schools superintendent, said the district’s project is on track to be the first district in Michigan to complete a fluorescent lighting to light-emitting diode (LED) switchover through a Consumers Energy pilot program.
