Cost to change Toledo's streetlights to LED drops
The cost to upgrade the city’s thousands of streetlights to light-emitting diodes just got a lot more affordable. The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio approved a new cost of $207 per fixture to replace conventional high-pressure sodium lamps with LEDs, which is down from $344 per fixture. Toledo Edison also completed an updated inventory of streetlights in Toledo, which puts the count closer to 26,000 rather than the 28,000 that Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz originally thought were in the city.
