Bridgelux Expands its F90 Series into Residential Applications Providing High Quality Light and Leading Efficacy for Common Lamp Types
Bridgelux announces its expansion from commercial to residential applications for F90, its popular CRI 90 product. A licensing agreement with GE Lighting, a Savant Company, for its Potassium Fluorosilicate (PFS) technology will allow Bridgelux to bring its F90 technology to a wide range of consumer lighting solutions. Popular lamp types that will now be powered by F90 technology include A lamps, BR, MR and Candelabra.
Bridgelux has created an important, enabling LED packaging technology that facilitates the transition from PFS’s cool white (>4000K) applications, such as display lighting, where it has been previously relegated to warm white (2700K) applications such as residential lighting due to the high concentration of PFS related lifetime issues. Bridgelux’s patented and innovative packaging solution solves the lifetime issue that has plagued PFS and allowed the expansion of F90 into the home.
Traditionally, there is an inverse relationship between CRI and efficacy: the higher the CRI, the lower the efficacy. By replacing broad-band red nitride with a narrow-band PFS phosphor, F90 products are able to perform as well as competing 80 CRI products.
The F90 products, while delivering CRI of 90 or greater and R9 > 50, will achieve efficacy that qualifies for California Title 20 and Europe’s Energy-related Products (ErP) for Class C (165 lm/W) and Class B (185 lm/W) designation. The following chart lists both F90 LED and Filaments types ready for immediate release.
