Mechanic Falls council contracts for LED streetlights

The Town Council of Mechanic Falls (Maine) unanimously approved an agreement with RealTerm Energy to change 102 streetlights to energy-efficient LEDs.

The Annapolis, Maryland, company would replace equipment on the poles for $68,977 and provide a 10-year maintenance program for $2,448 per year.

The total savings for the town over 20 years is estimated at $335,693.
