Lubrano Park Set for Lighting Upgrades
Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, home to Penn State baseball and the State College Spikes, is set to receive field and lighting upgrades this fall. The venue will replace its existing sports lighting with new LED sports lighting as part of a long-term maintenance program.
Additionally, the natural grass playing field will be replaced, the left field wall and wall padding will be relocated, the batters eye will be replaced, and the home team dugout will be renovated. These upgrades are expected to be completed before Penn State baseball’s next season.
The cost of the project has not been disclosed by Penn State. The project went out for bidding to contractors in early May. Penn State baseball is currently wrapping up its 2023 season with a record of 24-22 and a conference record of 6-14. They are scheduled to play against Pittsburgh at PNC Park on Tuesday, followed by a three-game series against Maryland in State College this weekend. The State College Spikes will begin their season on June 1st.
