Samsung Onyx LED Display Debuts in Germany

Samsung has installed the first Onyx Cinema LED display in Germany, marking a significant milestone. The Lamm-Lichtspiele arthouse theater in Erlangen is now home to this cutting-edge technology.

Located in Erlangen, the Lamm-Lichtspiele is the oldest continuously operating theater in the city. It first opened its doors in 1919 and has a rich history of cinematic experiences.
With the recent installation of the Samsung Onyx, the Lamm-Lichtspiele demonstrates that development and tradition can coexist harmoniously.

The Onyx display measures 5.1 x 2.7 meters and boasts a resolution of 2048 x 1080. It features an impressive 6.6 million light-emitting diodes, creating a total of 2.2 million pixels.
The display adheres to the DCI color space and delivers deep blacks, vibrant contrast, and a luminosity of up to 500 nits.

Samsung introduced the Onyx Cinema LED technology to cinemas in more than 120 countries over the past half-decade.
