UltraLEDs Introduces Precision LED Tape for Professional Lighting Applications
UltraLEDs has launched a new Precision LED Tape designed to meet the demanding colour accuracy and light quality needs of film, television, and studio environments. The company says the product delivers true-to-life colour rendering and consistent performance for both permanent and on-location lighting setups.
Built on UltraLEDs’ established LED tape technology — previously used in projects like Love Island, Black Mirror, and BBC Newsround — the Precision LED Tape offers a high Color Rendering Index (CRI) of over 95 along with strong R9 values to accurately reproduce colours under camera.
The tape’s design incorporates more than 240 LEDs per metre and can deliver up to 2700 lumens per metre, producing a smooth, continuous line of light without visible spotting. This uniform output helps ensure even illumination across surfaces, backgrounds, and confined areas such as behind diffusers or coves on set.
To maintain colour consistency across large installations, each production batch is sourced from a single BIN, keeping variation below 3 SDCM and reducing the risk of hue differences between rolls. The tape is offered in both IP20 and IP67 versions, making it suitable for indoor and outdoor use — even in environments exposed to moisture or dust.
UltraLEDs also emphasises the product’s durability, stating that it includes robust thermal management and stable output over thousands of hours of use, backed by a seven-year warranty
