Bridgelux gets $60 million in new VC funding

Bridgelux received $60 million in venture capital -- funding that will bolster the East Bay cleantech company's quest to develop cheaper light-emitting diodes. Livermore-based Bridgelux hopes to use the cash to accelerate research into an array of ventures, including production of LEDs on silicon surfaces, rather than on more expensive sapphire surfaces.
