LED streetlights have a bright future in Ilion

Light-emitting diodes, or LEDs, could shed new light on how municipalities can keep their streets bright at night — and save some money, too. About 100 LED streetlights were installed a couple of years ago along Barringer Road in Ilion in coordination with Frankfort’s Fiberdyne Energy, Chief Executive Officer Peter Polus said. Ilion Mayor John Stephens said the test program has worked out great for the village by reducing energy costs.
