LED bulbs to be sold in the city at half the market price
People in New Delhi can now buy energy-efficient LED bulbs at almost half the market rate with power distribution company BRPL today launching a scheme to promote the environment-friendly lighting. Inaugurating the scheme, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit announced that Delhi government would grant some concession in VAT to cut down price of LED bulbs to encourage people to switch over to the new generation lighting. Power distribution company BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd launched the scheme under which LED bulbs will be sold at Rs 399 each against the market price of Rs 700 to 800.
