Colorado Springs hopes LEDs brighten downtown's image

Things are about to get a little brighter for downtown Colorado Springs. At least that's the goal when city crews install LED street lights this month in Acacia Park and along Tejon Street, from Colorado Avenue to Boulder Street. The high pressure sodium street lights used now have a yellowish hue, said Nick Kittle, city manager of administrative services and innovation.
