DTE Energy hosting LED Saturday urging consumers to switch the light
Energy-efficiency experts from DTE Energy will be at The Home Depot stores in metro Detroit, Saturday, Nov. 8, to help customers make efficient lighting choices. Lighting accounts for about 20 percent of the average homeowner’s electric bill, and replacing incandescent bulbs with LEDs can help lower lighting expenses 75 percent, according to DTE. LED bulbs provide the same amount of light and can last 20 to 25 times longer than incandescent bulbs. During LED Saturday, customers can take advantage of special DTE Energy instant discounts on energy-efficient LED light bulbs. Select Energy Star qualified LED bulbs will be available for as low as $4.97 per bulb. Discounts will be available at all The Home Depot stores in DTE Energy’s Southeast Michigan service area.
