What type of light bulb saves money in the long run?
Confused about which type of light bulb to buy? The Consumer Federation of America recommends purchasing LED (light-emitting diode) bulbs rather than traditional incandescent or halogen bulbs, and says you’ll save money in the long run. A household using a least 20 light bulbs can save $1,000 or more over a decade by using LED bulbs, CFA officials said in a Monday conference call. “We are in the midst of a light bulb revolution that offers considerable savings to consumers, mainly through lower electricity costs,” said CFA executive director Stephen Brobeck.
