Cambridge cashes in on LED streetlight conversion
The City of Cambridge was presented with a cheque for over $326,000 from Energy+ Inc. on Monday for converting over 6,700 streetlights to energy efficient and cost saving Light Emitting Diode (LED) technology. The incentive was made available through the Save On Energy Retrofit program. "The new LED streetlights are expected to contribute over 3,779,336 kilowatt hours in energy savings annually, or the equivalent of taking 420 homes off the grid for an entire year!" Energy+’s President and CEO, Ian Miles, said in a release.
