Canton R-V starts to see benefits of new green lighting

The Canton, Missouri school district is going green. Their goal, to make sure they’re making the best use of taxpayer money. School administrators said new LED lights, added as part of a bond issue last summer, do more than just light up the hallways better, they also make it possible to invest more of their budget back into the school.

“With the new lighting it’s going to help a lot because, our old bond issue, we changed all the lights at that time, we changed all the ballast, so we had a lot of ballasts costs, with these lights we don’t have ballast costs,” said Canton R-V maintenance supervisor John Ellison.
