Laguna Woods condo board greenlights LED-conversion project for streetlights

The future is looking bright for Third Mutual as the board unanimously authorized a project that would increase the effectiveness of the mutual’s street lighting. The LED Conversion Project, recommended by contractor Siemens, will convert 759 street light fixtures from high-pressure sodium technology to light-emitting diode models, or LEDs, throughout the mutual, according to a Village Management Services staff report. “It’s a dramatic change,” VMS Maintenance and Construction Director Ernesto Munoz said on the switch from HPS to LED.
