Samsung rescheduls UV LED for Home Appliances

In September 2020, Samsung had planned to install UV LED on up to 20 to 30% of new home appliances launching in 2021, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

However, only one model per a product series is planned get UV LED due to difficulty in estimating market reaction and disinfection effectiveness.

The company was testing UV-C LED (250-280nm) on some home appliances, including refrigerators, air purifiers, ACs, washing machines and a cloth cleaners.
