NICHIA and Zumtobel partnership delivers human-centric lighting solutions

NICHIA, inventor of the high-brightness blue and white LEDs, announces a joint-product development collaboration with Zumtobel, an international supplier of holistic lighting solutions, to provide LED lighting with advanced human-centric lighting benefits.

The recently launched ZUMTOBEL Spectrum is a lighting solution developed for its luminaires which harness  proprietary technologies developed by NICHIA – especially those designed within Optisolis and Vitasolis – to produce a color spectrum that has daylight properties as reflected by nature instead of mimicking the conventional sky daylight spectra like other high CRI LED solutions available in the market.

Zumbtobel is also utilizing NICHIA’s Optisolis technology that provides a natural light source with a spectrum that achieves the industry’s closest match to that of the standard illuminant, including both the sun and incandescent. Optisolis is optimized for the general lighting market and is accomplished through the company’s proprietary blue chip and phosphor technology. Importantly, the light does not emit UV energy that can degrade materials and is evident in other light sources, including other market available LEDs.
