New LED street lights met with mixed reaction
New LED light bulbs being put into old neighborhood street lights in Sandy (Utah) have been met with mixed reaction from unsuspecting homeowners.
The street light that sits right outside of Chrystle Poss’s home shines directly into her living room window.
The older bulbs have a yellow-organge-ish tint but the new LED lights are bright white.
Sandy City officials say the LED bulbs are part of a 3-year project to use more energy efficient lights they claim will save the city hundreds of thousands of dollars in power costs over the 20 year life of the bulbs.
