Georgia Power providing LED lights to city of Stone Mountain
The Stone Mountain City Council recently held a meeting on September 19th, where they announced an upcoming city-wide LED lighting installation project.
Georgia Power, which was initially approached to conduct a lighting study for the city, has agreed to provide the study, LED lights, and installation services at no cost to the city. Additionally, Georgia Power has committed to freezing the city’s monthly power bill for these lights at a rate of $6,728.29 per month after installation12.
Councilmember Clint Monroe stated that the new LED lights would be brighter, greener, and estimated that they would save the city approximately $300,000 over the life of the program.
