Seoul Semiconductor Secures MicroLED Patent Deal with Silicon Core for Virtual Production

Seoul Semiconductor has signed a MicroLED patent license agreement with SiliconCore of the United States, strengthening its position in virtual production applications using MicroLED displays.

The deal, signed in September but recently brought to light by The Elec, provides Seoul Semiconductor access to 36 Silicon Core patents related to MicroLED technology.

At Display Week 2023, Seoul Semiconductor exhibited its own Wicop Pixel MicroLED technology. The company has touted the possibilities for Wicop Pixel beyond displays, including virtual production and automotive applications.
