Creating an animated Medusa head with PCB art and LED noodles @clubmadlab
LED “noodles” (or “nOOds” as Adafruit calls them) are a recent innovation in the LED world. These flexible silicone filaments, just a few millimeters in diameter, come in various lengths and colors.
Inside, they house numerous small LEDs, which are faintly visible but provide a uniform 360-degree brightness.
Inspired by these luminous filaments, James Hutchby envisioned a creative project—a “Medusa” head, where the glowing noodles would mimic the writhing snakes of Medusa’s legendary hair.
