A skin-like flexible LED mask

At CES 2026 in Las Vegas, beauty tech took another step forward with L’Oréal’s latest device concepts, which blend cutting-edge engineering with salon-style performance.

L’Oréal showed off three new gadgets: the Light Straight + Multi-styler, a full-face LED light mask, and an LED eye mask — each designed to rethink how consumers style hair and care for skin at home.

Instead of the firm, helmet-like plastic seen on many current LED skincare tools, L’Oréal’s LED masks are ultra-thin, pliable silicone pieces that sit close to the skin. One version targets the entire face, while a smaller model focuses on the eye area. Both are still in prototype form and use a mix of red (630 nm) and near-infrared (830 nm) light in roughly 10-minute sessions to help address signs of aging such as fine lines and uneven tone.

The eye mask has drawn particular attention for how soft and transparent it looks — almost like a flexible band you could fold up and store compactly — a departure from the bulkier LED undermask products often seen in stores.

L’Oréal is also planning a serum formulated to go along with the LED mask, which the company says could both reduce dryness and enhance the effectiveness of the light therapy.

All of these products are expected to land around 2027, though pricing details haven’t been released yet. L’Oréal has positioned the LED masks as premium devices, and the company’s leadership says these innovations reflect a broader push to integrate scientific research with consumer beauty tools.
