LEDs are gaining in popularity, a new survey finds
A survey by North American lighting giant Osram Sylvania found 65 percent of Americans have purchased LEDs for use in their homes, and that 86 percent believe at least one room in their home would benefit from smart lighting technology. KRC Research conducted the seventh annual Socket Survey in February 2015 via an online survey of 1,000 Americans aged 18 and over. The survey showed that 78 percent of those polled switched to a more energy-efficient lighting technology since the phase-out of incandescent light bulbs went into effect in January 2014, with 30 percent of respondents indicating they made the switch to LED bulbs.
