City experiment with LED streetlights continuing

Danville Utilities is continuing to test LED streetlights in parts of the city to see how much energy they could save. The city installed LED streetlights — from four vendors — along U.S. 58 near Windsor Heights this past winter and along Industrial Avenue a few weeks ago, said Danville Utilities Director Jason Grey. “We’re just trying them to see how well they perform,” Grey said. “We are going to monitor the energy consumption to see if the consumption is as good as advertised.”
