East Lyme to begin retrofitting streetlight with LEDs
The town is moving forward with retrofitting all of its streetlights with new LED fixtures. Red Thread, the electrical contractor, said it will have two crews doing about 30 fixtures a day. There are about 1,300 cobra-head fixtures through town, so the work will take about 5 to 6 weeks for this first phase. The contractor plans on moving through town from north to south. The second phase will be changing out the fixtures on stand-alone poles, which should start in January.
