Aspinwall's use of LEDs shines light on savings
Aspinwall taxpayers are saving about $4,500 a year since the borough switched its decorative street lights to energy efficient LEDs. Secretary Dawn Eastley said more than 125 lamps with 150 watt bulbs were changed to 36 watt LEDs, translating to hefty savings for the borough. In the three years since the street lamps were targeted, council has also approved using LED lighting at Fountain Park and at the borough's new welcome signs at either end of town.
