GM Recalling 340K Full-Size Utes Due to Lighting Issue
General Motors issued a recall for nearly 340,000 of its popular full-size sport-utility vehicles due to problems with their daytime running lights.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the daytime running lights, or DRLs, may not shut off when the vehicle’s regular headlights kick on.
The two lights on can create glare making it difficult for other drivers to see, potentially leading to collisions.
“GM determined that the body control module (BCM) software in these vehicles, under a combination of certain pre-conditions, may fail to deactivate the DRLs when the headlamps are on,” GM says.
