Luminii Quietly Acquires Alva Lighting

Architectural lighting manufacturer Luminii has added Alva Lighting to its portfolio, quietly expanding its lineup of specialized lighting brands. The acquisition reportedly took place in February, though it was not accompanied by a major announcement or press campaign. Instead, Alva simply began appearing as part of Luminii’s brand family.  

Based in Niles, Illinois, Luminii has been steadily growing through targeted acquisitions supported by private-equity firm The Cambria Group. The company’s strategy has focused on acquiring niche manufacturers that bring unique capabilities to its architectural lighting platform.  

Alva Lighting, a California manufacturer known for interior and exterior architectural wall sconces, fits neatly into that approach. Its products are designed for applications where wall-mounted fixtures are needed to complement or replace ceiling lighting systems, offering designers additional flexibility in architectural environments.  

Over the past several years, Luminii has assembled a diverse group of specialty lighting brands. Previous additions include Optic Arts and Senso Lighting in 2019, iLight Technologies in 2020, and Precision Lighting and Remote Controlled Lighting in 2021. More recently, the company added Glint Lighting in 2024.  

Each acquisition contributes a specialized product category—from linear systems and directional lighting to miniature optics and motorized fixtures. By bringing these focused manufacturers together under one umbrella, Luminii aims to provide designers and specifiers with a broad toolkit of architectural lighting solutions while maintaining each brand’s distinct identity.  

The addition of Alva Lighting extends that strategy by strengthening Luminii’s offerings in architectural wall sconces, further broadening the company’s presence across the professional lighting market.
