German soccer stadium sees the light with upgrade to LEDs

The Volkswagen Arena, in Wolfsburg, Germany, is installing the Philips ArenaVision system for field illumination using an all-LED network. Compared to incandescent, halogen and metal halide high intensity discharge light systems, LEDs do not need a warming cycle to reach full illumination and do not emit the heat of conventional lighting networks.
