Street lights of Corvallis take on brighter hue
There is a different tint to the skies above Corvallis. The city has been replacing its high pressure sodium (HPS) streetlights, which have given the city an orangish glow for decades, with brighter, whiter LED (light emitting diode) fixtures. City crews have been going block by block since 2014 and installing new lights on 780 poles owned by Pacific Power, said Adam Steele, franchise utility specialist.
