LEDs make dhabas’ power bill lighter, business brighter
They may not be the showy buildings of Las Vegas, but the dhabasthat line the Delhi-Chandigarh highway catch the eye with their brightly illuminated strings of fairy lights and incandescent bulbs and tubelights that make geometric patterns. The dhabas know people are tempted by the food they offer, but the illumination is the accessory that brings diners to the tables. So the eateries spare no expenses on lighting. There are approximately 30 dhabas on the highway that have all replaced conventional lighting on their premises with LED bulbs distributed by Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL), a joint venture of PSUs.
