Mobile is getting a lot brighter with 20,000 LED lights
The city of Mobile is entering a new agreement with Alabama Power in which the company will replace all street lights it owns in the city with LED lights. The new agreement will allow 20,000 street lights across the city to be replaced. The city wants to switch out the high-pressure sodium and metal halo street lights with LED lights as a cost-saving measure. The antiquated lights are no longer being manufactured, making them a challenge to replace.
