Lighting Project Will Save Carmel Thousands on Energy Bills
The town of Carmel has taken part in a New York State Electric & Gas (NYSEG) program that will save taxpayers thousands of dollars on the town’s utilities bill.
The town joined utility’s energy-saver program in which the company would install new energy-efficient LED lights and reduced-power ballasts throughout the Town Hall and the Recreation and Parks Department building at Sycamore Park.
Current cost for the town is $22,502 annually just for the lights. With the new lights, we save $14,429. That’s a 36 percent savings.
