Company Wants To Treat Mild Cases Of Covid With LED Lights
Durham, North Carolina-based EmitBio developed a handheld device that can deliver light using LEDs, the same technology in your light bulb, except with very precise frequencies instead of the whole visible spectrum.
These frequencies are shined to the back of a patient’s nose and throat to kill virus and provoke an immune response, according to Forbes.
For those who just have mild Covid symptoms, the device could be used at home.
If the prospect of treating a disease with nothing more than light sounds too good to be true to you, Neal Hunter EmitBio’s executive chairman, isn’t surprised. “It’s a lot to swallow,” he says. “And from a big pharma standpoint and government lab standpoint, it’s almost unbelievable.”
