The National Fire Protection Association Life Safety Code, also known as NFPA-101, specifies in Section 7.9.3 on the Testing and the Maintenance of self-testing/self-diagnosis emergency lighting equipment. It mandates that the self-testing/self-diagnosis emergency lighting equipment to perform the 30-second monthly and the 90-minute annual tests, as well as visual inspection and the recording of the visual inspection.

In accordance with the requirements outlined in the NFPA-101 Life Safety Code, Aleddra's Fully Automatic Self-Testing and Self-Diagnosis emergency tubes have been engineered to simplify the process of compliance monitoring and maintenance. Unlike conventional emergency tubes that require manual testing and inspection, our self-testing tubes automate the testing process, making it more efficient and less labor-intensive for facility managers.

Here's how it works: Each Aleddra's Fully Automatic Self-Testing and Self-Diagnosis emergency tube runs the (30) second monthly test and the (90) minute annual test without any human intervention. During the "testing cycle" the LED indicator on the end cap will flash slowly and no one has to be present.  Third party emergency tubes require that "someone" manually triggers the test. For the visual inspection, all that is required is for an individual to walk around the facility and look to see if the LED indicator light is flashing rapidly. If the indicator light is solid green, the tube has passed the required test. If it is flashing rapidly, the emergency tube needs to be replaced. Note this in your audit records as "visual inspection passed."
