Nottingham’s LED lighting programme is now complete
Nottingham City Council secured a grant for £7m from the Government’s Levelling Up Fund to upgrade street lights in all the city’s wards with new, energy-efficient LEDs.
As part of this ambitious project, subway lighting and signage lights were also upgraded. The programme began in July 2022, starting with Sherwood and Clifton and most recently finishing up in St Ann’s, the Meadows and the Dales. LEDs were installed ward by ward until they were all completed last month.
The new LED streetlights are more energy efficient which will help support the goal to make Nottingham carbon-neutral by 2028. They will also help the Council save money by using less electricity and having a longer lifespan.
