Highland Park to illuminate streets with solar lights
For more than 12 years, Highland Park residents have lived without streetlights.
Community leaders have long pushed for change, urging officials to illuminate the city’s streets. On Tuesday, Jan. 28, they announced a plan to install solar-powered lights.
During a special news conference, Mayor Glenda McDonald outlined a broader vision to revitalize Highland Park, emphasizing the importance of streetlights for safety and development.
The plan aims to install 40 to 50 solar lights, funded by grants, by the end of 2026.
