Organic Semiconductors Could Lead To Cheaper, Greener LEDs And Solar Cells
New innovations in the field of organic semiconductors could lead to the creation of more efficient LED TVs and flexible solar cells that can be cheaply manufactured. Semiconductors work to convert electric currents to light; these devices are usually based on silicon, but this takes a huge amount of energy to produce, the University of Bath reported. The researchers believe they can overcome this problem through the use of organic semiconductors.
