Atlantic City to install 2,500 LEDs thanks to $2 million grant
Thanks to a $2,000,000 grant, Atlantic City could get a whole lot brighter.
Atlantic City announced that due to the grant approved by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, they can now convert about 2,500 street lights to energy efficient light fixtures, potentially becoming the first in the state to convert their entire street lighting system to LED. The LEDs will save the city $250,000 annually in energy costs and according to Mayor Don Guardian, could reduce crime, a city spokesman said in a news release.
