Nashua converting all streetlights to LEDs
City officials this week approved a nearly $1.5 million project to convert all streetlights in Nashua to Light Emitting Diode lights.Mayor Jim Donchess told the Board of Aldermen that the project will replace every high pressure sodium streetlight to an LED light, and it will save the city substantial electrical costs. Currently, the city spends about $800,000 a year on its bill for streetlights. The new LED lighting will enable an annual savings of more than $300,000, said Donchess.
