Clarkstown begins installing LED streetlights

New streetlights will bring big savings to the town. Clarkstown has begun its $2.9 million project that will retrofit the bulk of its streetlights with energy-efficient light-emitting diodes, or LEDs. Since work started in June, nearly all the streetlights in Central Nyack have been outfitted with the new fixtures, Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann said. Crews were on track to replace the streetlights in West Nyack before the Fourth of July weekend.
