Utility replacing streetlights with LEDs in northern Indiana
A northern Indiana utility says its equipping streetlights that it owns in nine cities this year with more energy efficient technology. Northern Indiana Public Service Company's says it plans to add light-emitting diode, or LED, lights to 42,000 streetlights by the year 2022. The (Northwest Indiana) Times reports that about 7,200 streetlights will be upgraded this year in East Chicago, Hebron, Highland, Kouts, Munster, Schererville, Valparaiso, Wheatfield and Whiting.
